I've got the Twitter bug! In honor of our studies of Twitter this week I will dedicate my blog post to some interesting tweets! I am still learning how to use Twitter but am more impressed everyday how some businesses and nonprofits are using the medium to their advantage. Here are some of the faves...
Whole Foods: I am a big fan of Whole Foods, a natural food store. Too bad there is not one to be found anywhere in the Springfield area, but I am able to get my fix by following them on Twitter! They their Twitter account for customer service it seems like. I notice so many messages responding to customer complaints and comments with almost 10-20 Tweets a day! Impressive!
Starbuck: the Twitter page for Starbucks has 845,765 followers as of this blog post. They use the page for customer relations and to advertise promotions. For example on April 15, twitter users were invited to bring a reusable mug and get a free fill of coffee. I wonder if all 845,765 of their followers took notice!
Also equally interesting are celebrities use of twitter. It is amazing how many celebs are out there framing their image via the internet. I guess it is because they can control their twitter accounts while they cannot control what the tabloids are saying about them. Example...
Andy Roddick. I cannot tell a lie. I am following Andy Roddick on Twitter. Over the weekend there was a tweet on his page that stated Andy was spotted at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas. The best part was that Andy responded to the tweet saying that it is funny how people think he was spotted in Vegas when he is not even in Nevada and is on vacation with his wife celebrating their one year anniversary. You tell 'em Andy!
What am I tweeting about? Well not about Starbucks or Andy Roddick or any of the above. I am tweeting about how I am eager to learn more ways to use twitter effectively! That is my next goal!
